Amaryllis and Gallier Hall
A Jewel of an Urban Park since 1788
The Lafayette Square Conservancy (LSC) is an all-volunteer, non-profit group dedicated to the preservation and improvement of Downtown New Orleans' premier park in partnership with the City's Department of Parks and Parkways.  We strive for a well-used and well-maintained public park which serves as an urban oasis for visitors, residents and area workers.

A Busy 2015!

The spring concert series presented by the Young Leadership Council took over the square every Wednesday from March 11th through May 27th  and provided 12 weeks of great music, food and drinks.

Volunteer cleanup/planting days were held on March 7th and May 16th with another scheduled for November 7th.  Since many schools now require students to give back to the community, these volunteer days are a great way for students to earn public service hours.

The 4 corner beds have been colorful all spring and summer with bulbs generously donated by Kean Miller LLP.  We hope you are enjoying the ever-blooming coral drift roses planted last year around our 3 statues thanks to a grant from the Garden Study Club of New Orleans.  With the fall-blooming sasanqua camellias and the azaleas which bloom every spring, there is year round color in the square!

The Jazz and Heritage Foundation’s Blues and BBQ Festival is set for October 16th to 18th.

We continue to raise funds to improve the park and a great way for you to help is by signing up for the AmazonSmile program which donates money to the Conservancy when you shop at Amazon. Or you may make a donation directly to the LSC
