A Jewel of an Urban Park since 1788
The Lafayette Square Conservancy (LSC) is an all-volunteer, non-profit group dedicated to the preservation and improvement of Downtown New Orleans' premier park in partnership with the City's Department of Parks and Parkways. We strive for a well-used and well-maintained public park which serves as an urban oasis for visitors, residents and area workers.
Happy 2015! Here’s what we see coming up:
The spring concert series (click for 2015 lineup) presented by the Young Leadership Council from 5 to 8 pm every Wednesday from March 11th through May 27th. Mark your calendar for 12 weeks of great music, food, drinks and arts tents including ours with our great logo merchandise.
Volunteer cleanup/planting days on March 7th, May 16th and November 7th. We grant public service credit, so bring the kids.
We plan to have the 4 corner beds blooming all spring and summer with bulbs generously donated by Kean Miller LLP. We hope you are enjoying the newly planted coral drift roses around our 3 statues provided by a grant by the Garden Study Club of New Orleans. Our camelias are blooming and you should soon see azaleas in bloom around the park as well. Stop by and admire our year round color!
The Jazz and Heritage Foundation’s Blues and BBQ Festival is set for October 16th to 18th.
We continue to raise funds to improve the park and a great way for you to do it is by signing up for the AmazonSmile program which donates money to the Conservancy when you shop at Amazon. Or you may make a donation directly to the LSC.
